Corona Lab Treater

The purpose of corona treatment is to optimise the adhesion properties on polymer-based materials. The low surface energy of polymer-based substrates often leads to poor adhesion of inks, glues and coatings which by nature present significantly high surface energies. To obtain optimum adhesion, it is crucial that the surface energy of the substrate is equal or higher than the surface energy of the material to be applied to the polymer.

The Dyne Technology bench top Tantec LabTEC Corona Treating System is designed for the treatment of small polymer parts and is ideal for both three dimensional parts and films.

Specially configured for R&D lab, model shop, and small batch production, the system consists of a high frequency Corona power generator and a Corona treating station with a high voltage transformer integrated into the station. The high voltage transformer steps up the output signal from the Corona generator to produce the high frequency. The output of the transformer is connected to a stainless steel or ceramic roll electrode by way of an insulated high voltage cable.
