Needle Hub Treater

Plasma surface treatment and Corona surface treatment is the answer to the bonding and leakage problems of needle hubs. 

A stronger bond is achieved by ensuring that the adhesive fully wets the entire bore of the hub.  This is achieved by increasing the surface energy of the bore leading to an increased capillary action ensuring that the adhesive fully penetrates the hub.  The effect achieved by Plasma treatment or Corona treatment depends on various parameters, including electrode efficiency, duration of exposure, type of material being treated, surface contamination etc.

Improving surface energy and wettability allows the adhesive to spread evenly over the hub's bonding surface ensuring a strong bonding between the adhesive and the hub, preventing needle pull-off and leakage.
