Corona Treatment and Plasma Treatment of Pipes
Pipe Treater
The purpose of surface treatment of polymer-based pipe materials is to increase surface wettability. The low surface energy of polymer based substrates often leads to poor adhesion of inks, glues, foams and coatings. To obtain optimum adhesion, it is necessary to increase the surface energy of the surface of the pipe material to just above that of the material to be applied. Surface treatment with either Plasma or Corona results in improved surface adhesion properties.
Plasma Treatment of Pipes
The PlasmaTEC unit is a cost effective method of optimising the adhesion properties of printing inks, foams, adhesives and coatings onto polymer pipe materials such as PE, PP, HDPE etc. This in-line treating system has been specifically designed to facilitate easy installation to new or existing production lines. A complete system includes; Plasma Generator, Plasma transformer, Plasma nozzle/s. The PlasmaTEC is CE-marked.
Features
• Directional non-contact treatment, simply add more nozzles to increase treatment area.
• No limit to size of pipes that can be treated, each nozzle can treat up to 12mm band width.
• Zero-Speed control for automatic start/stop of treatment.
• High-speed treatment
Corona Treatment of Pipes
Corona treatment of pipes is a unique and cost effective method of optimising the adhesion properties of printing inks, foams, adhesives and coatings onto polymer pipe materials such as PE, PP, HDPE, PTFE etc. This in-line treating system has been specifically designed to facilitate easy installation to new or existing extrusion/production lines. A complete system includes; High frequency Generator, High voltage transformer/s, Air-cooled electrodes, Ozone Filter and customised stand-alone or bench-top treating station. The equipment is CE-marked.
Features (system dependant)
• Directional non-contact treatment, simply add more treatment heads/electrodes to increase treatment area.
• No limit to size of pipes that can be treated.
• Zero-Speed control for automatic start/stop of treatment.
• High-speed treatment
• Fully guarded treating station.
• Integrated ‘Watt/density’ control to ensure uniform treatment should line-speed alter.
• Available for treatment of “tough” materials such as Teflon and cross
